Oltea, Romania and Giuliano, Italy. They have been together since 1974. Oltea arrived in Italy in 1972 together with her first husband, also Italian. “Your home is that place where you stop your attempts to escape.” Oltea told us. I feel double in a certain sense, Italian and Romanian, an enrichment. When I return to Romania the differences emerge and I understand that my place is here. It's like a circular journey, happy on the way out and happy on the way back. Giuliano stated: “I don't know what it means to be a mixed couple, we are a couple and that's it.
